Talk Show: Role of Data in Climate Change and Launch of Indonesia Climate Data Explorer (CAIT Indonesia)

Indonesia has signed the Paris Agreement in New York on 22 April 2016. In its INDC, Indonesia commits to unconditionally reduce its emissions by almost a third (29 percent) against 2030 business-as-usual (BAU) scenario or more (41 percent), provided that international assistance is available. At the signing ceremony, the Minister of Environment and Forestry Dr Siti Nurbaya mentioned that Indonesia would be among the first 55 countries to ratify the agreement and that Indonesia's NDC would be more ambitious than its INDC.

In monitoring the emissions reduction target, information and data play critical role. Information on emission reduction target at the national and local level are available in the form of National Action Plan to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions (RAN GRK), Regional Action Plan to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions (RAD GRK) and Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting document.
