A decarbonization roadmap recently published in Science outlines decadal targets that put into perspective the monumental progress we need to make to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and keep warming below 2 degrees C (3.6 degrees F).

A World Resources Institute report, entitled “Creating a Sustainable Food Future”, highlighted one of the biggest development challenges this century: in order to adequately feed its growing population, the world will need almost 70 percent more food in 2050 (measured in crop calories) relative to the global food supply in 2006. This is known as the “food gap”.
Do people understand the impact of consuming too much beef or animal-sourced food on the environment? Do we really need to have beef on the table? Perhaps one of the answers to the soaring beef prices is to change our diets.
