Azam Hawari is the Project Lead for Palm Oil Legality and Compliance at WRI Indonesia. He works in conducting research and analysis of legal and regulatory frameworks on palm oil, forestry, spatial planning, land-based licenses, and conflict resolution related to land use. In addition to that, he also provides support on internal and external corporate legal matters, project management, and engagement with governmental agencies and companies.

Prior to joining WRI Indonesia, he worked for a law firm in Jakarta and some NGOs. He holds a B.A in Law from Universitas Indonesia and Mykolas Romeris University (Awardee of Erasmus+ Scholarship – funded by the European Union), with a minor in environmental law. He passed the Bar Exam in 2020 set by the Indonesian Bar Association (Peradi).

During his spare time, he loves doing sports, reading books, and cooking.
