Working Paper: Development of an Evaluation Framework for Social Forestry Programs in Protected Forest Areas - Case Study of Community Forests (HKm) and Nagari Forests (HN)

The results of the evaluation framework test in Beringin Jaya Community Forests (HKm) showed that the existence of HKm was able to reduce the rate of tree cover loss, improve welfare, and reduce economic inequality between communities, due to the high dependence of the community on forest areas.

Whereas in the case of Alam Pauh Duo Jorong Simancuang Nagari Forest (HN Simancuang) in Solok Selatan Regency, West Sumatra, the HN permit has not fully suppressed the rate of tree cover loss, although it has contributed to maintaining clean water supply for rice fields around HN.
