WRI Indonesia intends to hire an institution to help copyedit, proofread, translation, and other editorial services for multiple projects. The award will be deliverable-based under an umbrella contract starting April 1st 2022 to March 31st 2023. The chosen vendor will submit deliverables for approval to and work closely with the WRI Indonesia team. The contract will be signed by WRI Indonesia and will be paid from WRI Indonesia accounts, following Indonesia regulations.

Established in January 2014 with its headquarter in Jakarta, WRI Indonesia is a non- profit research organization affiliated with the World Resources Institute, a global environmental think tank based in Washington D.C. WRI has a research network of over 450 experts and staff in more than 50 countries with offices in China, India, Indonesia, Europe and the United States. In Indonesia, we have run projects with partners for over 20 years, and WRI Indonesia was formally launched to build a robust in-country presence, to formalize existing partnerships, as well as strengthen our research on the ground.


The vendor will help copyedit, proofread, translation, or other editorial-related services for WRI Indonesia. During the process, the vendor will receive feedbacks from the WRI communications team, RDI team, or another related project team. The vendor will be expected to follow WRI editorial guidelines.


The vendor will work remotely but must be located in Indonesia.


The contractor is expected to provide the services described under Scope of Work” from April 1st 2022 until March 31st 2023.


The budget for this service is deliverable-based, depend on the requests from WRI.


  1. A minimum 2 years of proven experience in editorial services, including but not limited to:

    a. Copyedit English and Indonesian communications & scientific knowledge product, and peer reviewed publications.

    b. Proofread English and Indonesian communications & scientific publications

    c. Translate communications & other products, from English to Indonesian and vice versa

  2. The team must have at least one native English-speaking editor who has experience in editing peer-reviewed publications. During the hiring process, the editor will be required to pass the test from WRI Senior Editor.

  3. Familiarity on environment and sustainable development issues is preferred.

  4. Having social oriented portfolio and brand.

Prospective vendors should submit:

  • Company profile (including sustainability efforts, if any)

  • A statement of interest describing the proposed team and how it meets the above requirements

  • CVs of team members

  • Examples of previous work

  • A rate card containing the list of available services

Evaluation Criteria

The following elements will be the primary considerations in evaluating all proposals submitted in response to this RfP:

  • The extent to which the vendor’s proposal fulfills WRI’s stated requirements as set out in the RFP

  • Experience with similar projects (portfolio)

  • Budget competitiveness

  • Overall cost of the vendor’s proposal (value for money)

  • Sustainability – WRI values sustainability and all other factors being equal, will favor a proposal to more sustainable vendor

The bidder offering the best overall quality will be selected. Price and non- price aspects are considered to be of approximately equal importance.

The potential bidders will be required to pass the test from WRI Senior Editor.

Selection Process

No proposal development costs shall be charged to WRI Indonesia and all expenses are to be borne by the bidders. WRI Indonesia may award to the bidder offering best value without discussions. However, WRI Indonesia reserves the right to seek bidder clarifications and to negotiate with those bidders deemed to be within a competitive range.

WRI Indonesia may, at its discretion and without explanation to the prospective vendors etc., choose to discontinue this RfP without obligation to such prospective vendors.
