AFi assists companies and various stakeholders in accomplishing ethical supply chains by providing the Accountability Framework as a consensus-based practical guide. Works as a coalition of over 20 environmental and social organisations worldwide, AFi fosters adoption of these best practices in commodity production and trade.

WHERE

Global and tropical regions, including Southeast Asia

WHY

While sustain livelihoods of millions, agriculture and forestry impact deforestation, biodiversity, and climate change, as well as associated with human rights violations of Indigenous People, local communities, and workers. Responsible management can balance resource extraction and the preservation of ecosystems and protection of human rights by applying the Accountability Framework.

To enhance the global implementation of the Accountability Framework, AFi strategically promotes the Framework in key tropical regions including Southeast Asia with a primary focus in Indonesia and Malaysia. The regional coalition of AFi actively spearheads the implementation efforts in Southeast Asia.

In addition to promoting the implementation of the Accountability Framework to guide companies and other stakeholders toward clear and consistent global norms, the AFi Southeast Asia Coalition plays a role in collaborating with regional stakeholders to achieve these standards, considering local contexts, practices, and on-the-ground realities.
