Poster NPAP 15 October Landscape - V2

Background

Traceability holds a crucial role in the efforts against plastic pollution, as it allows monitoring in all stages of the plastic lifecycle - from design, production, usage, treatment, and disposal. With a robust tracing system, we can identify plastic pollution sources, amplify supply-chain transparency, and uphold consumer and producer accountability.

The Indonesia National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP) and SIRSAK are collaborating to host a Community of Practice event titled "Traceability: A Cornerstone of Sustainable Waste Management in Indonesia.” This event is designed to convene discussions for Indonesia NPAP's diverse members, including government officials, industry representatives, civil society, and researchers, regarding knowledge and skills to leverage traceability in the fight against plastic pollution.

Event Objectives

  1. Understanding Indonesia's current practice for traceability: key challenges and opportunities
  2. Share the relevance of traceability to the International Legally Binding Instrument (ILBI) on Plastic Pollution and what it means for Indonesia
  3. Share insights on regulatory and industry best practices
  4. Explore technological and innovative solutions for traceability
