Jakarta, April 29, 2025 — The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), in collaboration with the Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD), and supported by WRI Indonesia and CDP, launched the third batch of the Corporate Assistance Program (CAP) Batch 3.0, starting with a kick-off event held at Wyndham Casablanca Hotel, Jakarta.

This program is part of the KADIN Net Zero Hub initiative, a collaborative platform designed to support Indonesia’s business sector in transitioning toward net-zero emissions, with a focus on strategic sectors such as the iron and steel industry, which is one of the highest contributors to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the country.

In her opening remarks, Syarika Bralini, Founding Member of KADIN Net Zero Hub, emphasized: "Through Kadin Net Zero Hub, Indonesian businesses are encouraged to take real action in supporting Indonesia's net-zero target by 2060 or earlier. This initiative serves as a shared platform to accelerate action, strengthen capacity, and foster cross-sector collaboration toward a greener and more sustainable future."

Harry Warganegara, Executive Director of the Indonesian Iron & Steel Industry Association (IISIA), expressed support for CAP Batch 3.0: "This program is a concrete step to support a sustainable and globally competitive iron and steel industry. The industry faces major challenges, including high GHG emissions and a more competitive market." He added, "We hope that through this program, companies can strengthen their internal capacity to prepare for a more competitive and sustainable industrial future."

Also present at the event was Yosef Danianta Kurniawan, Senior Functional Officer for Industrial Development, representing Dodiet Prasetyo, Director of Metal Industries at the Ministry of Industry. Yosef reaffirmed the government’s commitment to decarbonizing the metal sector: "The government continues to encourage the implementation of green industry principles and accelerate the transformation of the iron and steel sector into an environmentally friendly industry through the adoption of low-carbon technologies. This not only enhances competitiveness but also positions Indonesia as a global solution to climate change."

CAP is an intensive five-month technical assistance program designed to help companies inventory and measure GHG emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3. The program also supports companies in setting science-based emission reduction targets, developing initial decarbonization strategies, and reporting progress transparently. CAP includes expert-led classes, one-on-one mentoring sessions, site visits, sharing of best practices from industry leaders, and progress assessments. The entire program is supported by the Net-Zero Learning Hub (NZLH) e-learning platform, used for submitting assignments, scheduling mentoring sessions, and accessing learning materials to optimize participation.

This kick-off marks the launch of CAP’s third batch. In previous rounds, the program successfully graduated 27 companies that demonstrated strong commitment to net-zero transition. In this latest batch, CAP will specifically assist selected companies from the iron and steel sector.

"Through CAP, industrial decarbonization must become a collective effort that is practical and adoptable by all business actors. WRI is committed to bridging the gap between knowledge and implementation, and to driving action that is measurable, transformative, and accountable at the pace and scale science demands," said Clorinda Kurnia Wibowo, Senior Manager for Energy and Sustainable Business at WRI Indonesia.

Looking ahead, KADIN Net Zero Hub remains committed to reaching more companies and supporting their carbon reduction efforts. The initiative emphasizes the importance of collaboration and strategic guidance as the key to a more sustainable industrial landscape.

Indah Budiani, Executive Director of IBCSD, added, "By joining Kadin Net Zero Hub, companies receive direct support to design and implement strategies toward net-zero. Programs like CAP Batch 3.0 ensure that companies not only understand the urgency of the net-zero transition, but are also equipped with practical and collaborative support to take meaningful action. We believe that accelerating industrial transformation can only be achieved through close partnerships between business, government, and supporting organizations."

With the launch of this third batch, KADIN Net Zero Hub aims to further accelerate the business sector’s real contribution to reducing GHG emissions and strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesia’s industry amid global energy transition demands.
