Amid the 8% economic growth target and increasingly strong climate commitments, 2026 will be a crucial moment for Indonesia's development. How can we ensure that both move in harmony while remaining firmly grounded in sustainability?
At this critical juncture, the role of the public, academics, and policymakers becomes essential in safeguarding the development pathway. This is to ensure that growth is not only rapid, but also equitable and sustainable.
To that end, we are going to be hosting the Stories to Watch Indonesia, our annual event that highlights key stories at the intersection of the climate crisis, development, and systems transformation.
This year, we chose the theme "When Economic Growth Accounts for Environmental Impacts and Climate Change" to present a range of data-driven solution recommendations. Through these suggestions, we would like to reaffirm our support to achieving the government's targets while ensuring balance for nature, climate, and people.
