ICSCR Side Event: Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation, and Pollution Control Strategies for Coral Reefs
The coral triangle is a 75,000 km2 wide area that is packed with dense coral reef ecosystems spanning across six nations, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands. With rich biodiversity, this area is often called as the "Amazon of the Sea."
Recognizing the importance of conserving the Coral Triangle, while commemorating Nusantara Day 2024, the government of Indonesia is hosting the International Conference on Sustainable Coral Reefs (ICSCR) 2024 with a theme Science, Conservation, and Resilience on 13-15 December 2024, at Manado, Indonesia.
This event invites experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from around the world to share their experiences, sparking collaboration, and develop pratical solutions for conserving and protecting the future of Coral Triangle.
WRI Indonesia is invited to host a side event title Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation, and Pollution Control for Coral Reefs inviting expert speakers to share about the impact of climate change and pollution towards coral reefs ecosystems.
This session will explore innovative solutions to solve pollution and climate change impacts, including but not limited to adaptive climate solutions, technological solutions, and policy interventions.
