In this upcoming webinar, we will explore the strategies employed by local leaders in designing and executing low-carbon initiatives that align with each country's national development plans and the Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategies (LT-LEDS). Bali Province in Indonesia will present its more ambitious provincial net-zero target, which is set for 2045, fifteen years ahead of the national target. We will also examine the presentations of various tools employed by sub-national authorities in India to inform the process of creating sub-national LT-LEDS, as well as how different modelling pathways influence state decision-making. The examples presented by sub-national actors at this webinar will explore good practices and lessons learnt in planning and implementing sub-national LT-LEDS. The session will therefore showcase tools and modelling to provide insights and ensure robust, holistic development planning, as well as supporting sub-national governments in designing science-based policies.
