"Abdullah Ahmad Nasution (commonly known as Ahmad Nasution) is a Forest Research Analyst at WRI Indonesia, where he contributes to forest monitoring, land use governance, and spatial analysis initiatives. His work focuses on forest change detection, deforestation analysis, and the development of geospatial tools and platforms such as Global Forest Watch and landscape monitoring platform. He actively supports data analysis, knowledge product development, and stakeholder engagement with government agencies, civil society organizations, and local communities.

Prior to his current role, Ahmad held several positions at WRI Indonesia, including Forest Monitoring Research Analyst, Research Analyst on Land Use Governance, and GIS Consultant. Across these roles, he has been involved in spatial data analysis, capacity building, and technical assistance to support sustainable forest and land use practices in Indonesia. Earlier in his career, he also worked with PT. Surveyor Indonesia, overseeing forest and land rehabilitation activities and conducting field-based assessments.

Ahmad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from Syiah Kuala University. His academic research focused on land cover classification and change analysis using GIS and remote sensing techniques.
