Ade Irman Susanto with the nickname "Ade" joined WRI Indonesia as a Conflict Transformation Analyst on the one map project and now as Conflict Transformation, Agrarian Reform and Social Forestry Research Analyst on the Enhancing Community Forest And Sustainable Livelihoods in Indonesia project/IPLC. Ade conducts research and analysis on land conflicts in forest areas and outside forest areas and also builds relationships with the central government which is the implementer of agrarian reform and social forestry.

Prior to joining WRI, Ade worked in the NGO as a peacebuilder on social and land conflicts at the Indonesian Peace Institute, the coordinator of the USAID Prioritas program in Madiun, East Java, as a Liaison Consultant for the Emergency response of Merapi eruption at the United Nations for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) for disaster projects, and as Program Manager of the Respect project Usaid-World Learning-FKPI for handling conflicts and building a peaceful environment.

Ade has been involved in social and land conflicts since he was a student and a local NGO that concentrates on conflict and peace as well as disaster agencies. Then he studied conflict transformation in his master’s degree in conflict and peace studies at Duta Wacana Christian University, Yogyakarta to become a conflict mediator.

In his spare time, Ade will carry out activities to build peace, be it discussions in coffee shops or online, because his motto is “peace is my lifestyle.”
