Muhammad Zayyanul Afwani
GIS Research Analyst
Zayyan is a GIS Research Analyst for Nature-based Solutions. He is responsible for implementing nature-based solutions in forest, urban, and marine ecosystems through spatial analysis. Zayyan is involved in various programs such as Cities4Forest, Low Emission Zone (LEZ), SCeNe Coalition, and KONEKSI "Conserving Ridge to Reef."
Prior to joining WRI Indonesia, Zayyan enriched his geospatial analysis skills at ESRI Indonesia, where he was responsible for developing dynamic dashboards to assist various institutions in decision-making. Additionally, he worked as a consultant for several organizations such as Konservasi Indonesia and Palladium International Indonesia. From these experience, zayyan successfully initiated a GIS community called "Geosoftware Community," providing easy access to free GIS courses for the public, especially students, in spatial analysis using different GIS software.
Zayyan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Faculty of Geography at UGM, with a focus on land cover mapping through Remote Sensing using various algorithms.
Apart from his work, Zayyan enjoys outdoor adventures, meeting new friends, and discussing with his close friends in cafes.
