Hidayah Hamzah
Forest and Peat Monitoring Senior Manager
Hidayah (Iday) is the Forest and Peat Monitoring Senior Manager who oversee and provide strategic direction for portfolios in WRI Indonesia that focuses on the uptake of robust forest and peat monitoring tools, identifying and advocating use cases of Global Forest Watch and other WRI-led forest monitoring method for wider use by key stakeholders, and advocating use cases of the existing regulatory framework to increase the effectiveness of law enforcement against forest-related crimes.
Prior to joining WRI, Iday worked at UNESCO where she focused on World Heritage sites and biosphere reserves in Indonesia. She also worked Fauna & Flora International in the area of GIS analysis support and participatory mapping for customary forest in Aceh.
Iday holds an MSc degree in natural resources management from Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, University of Twente, the Netherlands. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Science from Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia.
She enjoys traveling and coffee shop hopping. She holds a rescue diving certificate and happy to grab an invitation to admire underwater creatures.
